Jessica played softball at Florida State, where she was a two-time First Team All-American selection, two-time ACC Player of the Year, and the 2004 USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Year. She was inducted into the FSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014. She has spent over a decade developing softball players in Columbia.

Michael played four years at Florida State, was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round of the 2004 NFL Draft, and played five seasons in the league as a safety, including a Super Bowl XL appearance.
